Promotion of existing texts

To help me create my DigiPak, I researched exisiting CD covers. I looked at successful covers from the same genre that I was aiming towards and looked at the layout, effects and images that they used to make them look professional and interesting.

Target audience

I researched my target audience around the indie genre. I decided to aim my music video at the 13-19 age range, as i thought this best suited my video and was most appropriate for my genre style.

Research

To gain a better understanding of my target audience, I researched 'indie' culture. I looked at music, fashion, behaviour and style that was typically associated to the indie genre. This really helped when I was thinking about the setting, wardrobe and acting for my video, as I wanted to make it appropriate to my target audience.

Time planning

I used Celtex to plan my filming. This proved to be a good programme to use, as it was very clear and simple, and helped to keep the filming precise and on track. I also created a production log and project schedule, which gave me aims and targets and helped me to keep to these.

Edited images

In preparation for my music video, I experimented with different effects that I could possibly use when creating my DigiPak. I used Photoshop for my editing, and used a lot of pop-art inspired effects. This preparation really helped when creating images for my supporting products. I've also included some images that show various Photoshop effects.

Storyboard

I created a story board for my music video. This allowed me to see my music video mapped out and acted as a plan for my filming. It also helped to think about what kind of settings, actors, lighting, wardrobe and time scale I was going to use.

Final DigiPak

This is the final version of my DigiPak.
I worked on this as part of my response to my brief. I tried to keep the style of my DigiPak to coincide with the style of my film. I thought carefully about which images I wanted to use, and what image I wanted to reflect from my final product.
